MSRS Launches New Youth Management Trainee Programme

2019-12-19

The Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) will launch a brand new project called “New Youth Management Trainee Programme” (“MT Programme”) in 2020. This new programme will provide further opportunities to Hong Kong’s youth, aged 18 to 35, to undergo a year of full-time work in Belt and Road countries as well as mainland China.

While introducing the progamme, Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS said, “MSRS launched ‘Operation Zhang Qian — Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme’ in 2016. About 300 full-time Hong Kong undergraduate students have travelled to Belt and Road countries and mainland China for 4-8 weeks of internship, where they lived and worked to broaden their experience and explore new horizons.”

“Riding on the solid foundations of ‘Operation Zhang Qian’, MSRS will launch ‘MT Programme’ in 2020 for Hong Kong’s youth to live, and work in Belt and Road countries as well as mainland China. The young trainees will undergo a year of full-time work with the prospect of becoming a regular employee afterwards,” he added.

MSRS has set up a “New Youth Management Trainee Programme Steering Committee” under its “Youth Opportunities Committee” to direct and monitor the implementation and development of the MT Programme. Ms Fu Wenjing, the President of the Hong Kong Wenchang Natives Association, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Steering Committee.
