During this five-week internship, I got invaluable experience, knowledge and skills, which has become a stepping stone in my future career.

First of all, during the first week of my trip to Beijing, I had a lecture on China's future development strategy. I learned about China's major development strategies and governance directions in recent years, and I also reflected that young people should have a global vision . In addition, I also attended a lecture on FinTech to learn about the current developments, trends and applications of FinTech in China. Young people must be prepared to grasp the opportunities and challenges ahead. In addition to attending classes, I also visited Tsinghua University, the Palace Museum, and Benz’s factory, which gave me a deeper understanding of Beijing’s culture and history.

Then, during a week of training in Hong Kong, I had classes about the situation and business strategy of Greater Bay Area, ASEAN, and the Belt and Road. I understood the development of the world and banking industry from more macro perspectives and the potentials of these area and countries. In addition, I also took courses on financial technology, banking and products and business etiquette. I have had a deeper understanding of the banking industry and learned some sales and communication skills from my tutors.

Finally, during my three-week internship in Thailand, I was assigned to work in the corporate banking division. My supervisor asked me to prepare a presentation on the oil and gas industry in order to let me participate in the credit proposal of a well-known Thai oil company. I learnt more about the oil industry, and my supervisor has taught me some presentation skills in real life. In the process of participating in the credit proposal, my supervisor also taught me some of the financial analysis techniques. I also got the practical experience as a relationship manager. During the holidays, we went to the famous attractions in Thailand and tried a lot of local specialties to bring a little joy to the busy work.

What I learned in these five weeks was not just knowledge, but also how to integrate into a new environment and build my social circle. These experiences are beneficial to my future studies, careers and social network. I have also reflected on the direction of my future development.
