I have a deeper understanding of mainland property market after this internship. Besides, my mentor asked me to made a research report on Hong Kong property market and make presentation, which allow them to get familiar with the Hong Know real estate industry and it would be useful if I get in to this industry in the future.

I used to work in Hong Kong and found that there was a big difference between the workplace of Hong Kong and mainland. First, mainland’ companies focus on the balance between work and rest which is different from the fast-paced pace of work in Hong Kong. In the mainland, there will be nap time and afternoon teatime, so that colleagues can have enough rest and continue to work. And the company has gyms and mentors to provide the employees enough exercise. I think this pace of work is more effective at work. However, same as in Hong Kong, the workload is heavy and need overtime work.

Furthermore, in mainland workplace pays more attention to the relationship between the colleagues. Because of the need for cross department cooperation in the project., the way they build the relationship to their colleagues and bosses is also very different from Hong Kong. For example, the superior will arrange the gathering with other departments. During the gathering, colleagues will chat, and if there are colleagues who do not know each other, they will make introduction to understand each other's backgrounds and positions. The boss also participates in the conversation, not only at work but also in life. The superior usually make less contact with subordinate in the daily work, through such channels, the boss can hear colleagues pour out.

I think such kind of relationship in Hong Kong is different from that of the mainland and is more formalized. The purpose of gathering in Hong Kong is more for leisure while mainland regards gathering as part of their work. This is the same as mainland concerns on relationship in their work.
