In my first week of the internship, I worked in the Týden, the online media, and the TV Barrandov, one of the most-watched TV channels in Czech. I was assigned to write articles from a foreigner’s view and one of my articles was translated into Czech and published online.

The most exciting part was working with the TV station. My colleague, a reporter, was to work on a story idea to spot the cheating behaviours that Prague was quite notorious for. We met in an early morning and set off to the tourist area to "fish". I was asked to record my conversation with the shopkeepers secretly, in order to find out if any cheating happens. It was found that the shops just offered unethically a bad exchange rate instead of extra charges without notification.

Another test was to find out the cost of taking a taxi from Old Town Square to Wenceslas Square which is equivalent to a 10-minute walk. We targeted an independent taxi but the driver asked us to walk instead. We then spent another 30 minutes to test another taxi. It turned out that it costed CZK 300 and moreover, it took more than half an hour to ride to the Square.
