What kinds of tea do leaders drink?

Organized by the Maritime Silk Road Society, supported by The Barn (HKI Tea Development Limited), the “What kinds of tea do leaders drink?” event was held on 19 January in the Headquarter Tea Space of The Barn in Kwun Tong. Miss Mavis Li, Chief Operating Officer of The BARN (Chongqing), was the speaker.
In recent years, President Xi Jinping has greeted foreign leaders with Chinese tea to promote friendship, and most importantly, to showcase this traditional culture to the world. Miss Mavis Li told stories of tea parties of President Xi and leaders of foreign countries, including drinking Dragon Well Tea with President Obama of the United States at West Lake, Phoenix Dancong Oolong with President Macron of France at Songyuan, and Lapsang Souchong with Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. She then explained the features and important things to note when brewing these teas. During the presentation, participants tasted the three kinds of tea freshly brewed by tea masters and enjoyed the experience of tea brewing by themselves under the tea masters’ guidance.
