MSRS 2026 Annual General Meeting & Extraordinary General Meeting

The 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) was held on 27 August to adopt the minutes of 2025 AGM and to receive the 2025-2026 reports of the Executive Committee. The meeting was attended by honorary advisors, office bearers and members of the Society.
Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of MSRS addressed the AGM with her welcoming remarks. She thanked advisors and executive committee members who attended the AGM, including Mr Lam Kwong Siu, Mr Joseph Chan, Prof Alice Chiu Tsang Hok Wan, Ms Lau Kuen and Mr Suen Kwok Lam, the representative of Dr Peter Lee Ka-kit. Mrs Ip then reported on activities that she attended on behalf of MSRS as officiating guest. Mr Bernard Chan, Co-Chair reported on the cultural, historical and archaeological activities held in Hong Kong, GBA and Jordan. Dr Louis Shih, Co-President spoke on activities related to environmental issues and membership status. Ms Eunice Yung, Vice-Chair (Administration) of the Youth Opportunities Committee (YOC) highlighted the activities related to technology and national security. Mr Roland Wong, Vice-Chair (Development) of YOC, reported on “Operation Zhang Qian — Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme” 2026 and thematic tours. Dr Charles Ng, Vice-Chair (Entrepreneur) of YOC, focused on the seminar on ASEAN health spearheaded by him.
Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS, reported on the latest development MSRS. Ms Wendy Tsang, Executive Director, presented the 2025-2026 report on the Financial Statement of MSRS.
Immediately after the AGM, an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) was held to resolve a special resolution that an application be made to the Registrar of Companies for the de-registration of the Company in accordance with the Companies Ordinance and the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
