Talk on "The Past Hidden Extraordinary Agenda of Some Police Stations"

In response to the National Security Education Day in Mid-April, the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) is honoured to have invited Mr Henry Ho, Retired Senior Superintendent of Police & Advisor of Hong Kong Police Museum and Dr Joyce So, history researcher and Management Board Member of Jao Tsung-I Academy to jointly host a talk on "The Past Hidden Extraordinary Agenda of Some Police Stations" on 27 April. Through this seminar, MSRS aimed at enhancing public awareness of national security and deepening their understanding of the disciplinary services.
Mr Henry Ho introduced the history of Hong Kong, including the Opium War, the Treaty of Nanjing, the origin of the name Hong Kong, and captivating stories about Tai Kwun, the old Stanley Police Station, Pok Fu Lam Police Station, Police Station No. 1, Police Station No. 2, Police Station No. 3, Police Station No. 4, Police Station No. 5, Police Station No. 6, Police Station No. 7, Police Station No. 8, Police Station No. 9, the old Yau Ma Tei Police Station, the old Aberdeen Police Station, the old Tai O Police Station, the Sham Shui Po Police Station, the Wan Chai Police Headquarters, the Causeway Bay Police Station, the Shau Kei Wan Police Station, the Lau Fau Shan Police Station, the Tiu Keng Leng Police Station, and the Marine Police Headquarters, etc.
Dr Joyce So utilized historical archives to explain the establishment and development of the Special Branch, its work reports, the Special Branch during the 1967 anti-British uprising, and its subsequent surveillance of various aspects, supplementing these little-known political secrets to enrich the content of the lecture.
