MSRS Participated in “Ho Man Tin Heritage Guided Tour” – North Route

2026-02-06

With voluntary services provided by docents of The Hong Kong Heritage Project, a group of 18 members of Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) participated in the Ho Man Tin Heritage Guided Tour” – North Route to stroll around Ho Man Tin where the CLP Pulse is located, and learn about the interesting historical stories of the area, including the origins of the street names and experiences of World War II.

The Ho Man Tin district has a rich history that may be lesser known to many. To share these old stories with a wider audience, CLP Pulse launches its Heritage Guided Tours from November till March in the following year, encompassing the East, South, West and North routes to enable participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the district, with the CLP clock tower at its core.

The North Route walking tour started at Kowloon Tong, exploring heritage along Rutland Quadrant, Cumberland Road, Essex Crescent towards Maryknoll Convent School, St. Teresa's Church, Waterloo Road’s hidden air raid shelters, ending at the clock tower of CLP Pulse.

MSRS expressed its gratitude to CLP and The Hong Kong Heritage Project for their meticulous arrangements of the guided tour and the professional introductions by the docents. This allowed everyone to revisit precious history and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage, famous figures, and unforgettable anecdotes of the Ho Man Tin District.

Participants concluded the tour with a lunch at Amaroni’s, a renowned Italian restaurant in Mong Kok.
