MSRS 2023 Annual General Meeting

The 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) was held on 21 December to adopt the minutes of 2022 AGM and to receive the 2022-2023 reports of the Executive Committee. Held in a hybrid on-site and online mode, the meeting was attended by advisors, office bearers and members of the Society.
Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of MSRS addressed the AGM with her welcoming remarks. She thanked the advisors and executive committee members who attended the AGM in person, including Mr Suen Kwok Lam, the representative of Dr Peter Lee Ka-kit, and Mr Lam Kwong Yu. She reported on MSRS key activities, including the “Belt and Road 10th Anniversary International Forum – ‘Brave New World’” and her presentation at the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. Mr Bernard Chan, Co-Chair reported on the two-pronged approach which aimed at youth development and cultural exchange. Dr Louis Shih, Co-President spoke on activities related to green financing and carbon market trading. Ms Eunice Yung, Vice-Chair of the Youth Opportunities Committee (YOC), reported on the IT-related events co-organized with professional organizations. Mr Roland Wong, Vice-Chair of YOC, focused on the youth programmes including the Quanzhou exploration for a delegation of 120 students and another delegation of 70 students to Guizhou.
Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS, reported on the external development of the MSRS programmes. Ms Wendy Tsang, Executive Director, presented the 2022-2023 report on the Financial Statement of MSRS.
