MSRS 2020 Annual General Meeting
The 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Maritime Silk Road Society (MSRS) was held on 8 December to adopt the minutes of 2019 AGM and to receive the 2019-2020 reports of the Executive Committee. For the first time, the AGM was held in both online and physical mode. The meeting was attended by advisors, office bearers and members of the Society.
Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of MSRS addressed the AGM with her welcoming remarks and reported on MSRS activities, including seminars, conferences and major meetings. She mentioned that “Operation Zhang Qian — Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme” and “New Youth Management Trainee Programme” would be forged ahead with more youth-focused activities in future, exploring new opportunities and promoting the BRI. Mr Bernard Chan, Co-Chair reported on the cultural activities and latest developments of the Society. Dr Louis Shih Tai Cho,Co-President mentioned about MSRS’s contribution to fight the epidemic by donating medical supplies and funds to needed. Ms Eunice Yung, Vice-Chair of the Youth Opportunities Committee, presented the report on the 2020 “Operation Zhang Qian — Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme” while Ms Fu Wenjing, the Chair of the New Youth Management Trainee Programme Steering Committee, presented the report on the “New Youth Management Trainee Programme”, which was launched in early 2020.
Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS, reported on the external development of the MSRS, which was in line with the direction of the BRI. Ms Wendy Tsang, Executive Director, presented the 2019-2020 report on the Financial Statement of MSRS.
