During the period of internship, we saw real estate redevelopment and Sino-Greek cooperation. For instance, the founder of Crystal Waters (our host company), was trying to build infrastructures for tourists while searching for potential clients from China to join the program. A number of business women visited Lefkada in Greece. Upon witnessing the reviving economy in Greece, they decided to take their chance to invest. I can see that the collaboration between China and Greece brings much advantage to the local economy and to the development of relationship between the two countries.
Our colleagues in Greece were nice and friendly. They told us about the myths and history of Greece, ranging from Athena to Apollo. Sometimes, they shared with us their experience of the previous economic crisis and how they fought against it. They finally encountered the opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative which provided them with job opportunities and helped boost the country’s economy. We served clients from China and we tried our best to explain what we had learned in the course of our internship about the return on investment under the real estate plans.
Besides, we also assisted in organizing events and met students from Greek universities. They were cheerful and their smiles delighted us all. They shared with us their everyday life on this charming island - swimming in the afternoon and hanging out at night. We had never thought that nights in Greece could be as entertaining as in Hong Kong. Shops in town were open at night with people wondering on the streets, children running around the square and laughter was everywhere. I could feel the sense of joy in the air as we inhaled happiness while exhaled the grumbling lodged in our body.
