My Internship in Kerry Express

  I have visited nearly all the departments in the company and had meetings with different managers and people. I also worked in a parcel shop for a day.

  Besides, I was asked to create a delay code booklet that designed for couriers to know more about the application of delay codes. It consists of two parts — the flow chart and the main content. I have created two flow charts in total: one can be applied in different situations that couriers may encounter when they make phone calls to customers. For example, customers do not answer the call, refuse to accept the package, the call cannot be completed, etc. Another one is about the situations that couriers may encounter when they are making the delivery, like what if customers refuse to pay COD, shipment is damaged, vehicle accident/ breakdown occurs, no one accepts the parcel when the courier arrives at the spot, etc. The flow chart provides a clear picture for couriers to identify what delay code should be used under specific situation. Definition, different scenarios, common mistakes that couriers easily made, and some additional remarks are all clearly stated in the booklet. 

  This experience is really beneficial for me to get to know the company more and also helps to build up a sense of belonging in the company as I get the chance to meet different people in different positions, and to know how the company works from different perspectives.
