Mr Alex Wong Presented Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to Hong Kong Shunde Beijiao Association Members
On 4 December, Mr Alex Wong, CEO of MSRS was invited to give a talk to members of Hong Kong Shunde Beijiao Association at B P International. The audience comprised of 30 young professionals and seasoned businesspersons from a variety of background, including finance and trade.
The hour-long session started with Mr Wong outlining the background of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) with key statistics, often compared to foreign equivalents such as the Tokyo Bay Area and the San Francisco Bay Area. He described the GBA as an economic powerhouse that can rival some countries in the western world, and the unique “One Country, Two Systems” element of the GBA presents opportunities as well as challenges. Mr Wong also shared his viewpoints on recent developments of the Belt and Road Initiative, GBA logistics, China-US trade conflicts, among others.
In the latter half of the presentation, the audience consulted Mr Wong on multiple topics regarding the GBA. Mr Wong also introduced the background of MSRS, and highlighted “Operation Zhang Qian – Undergraduate Summer Internship Programme” which, since 2016, has successfully helped hundreds of local students secure internship positions in Belt and Road countries. The session concluded with group photo-taking.
As guest of honour, Mr Wong proceeded to join Hong Kong Shunde Beijiao Association’s gala dinner in the evening.
