Mrs Regina Ip Gave Presentation at Sustainable Development Summit
At the invitation of Social Enterprise Research Institute, Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of the Maritime Silk Road Society, gave a presentation entitled “The Belt and Road and Opportunities for Hong Kong” as part of “Belt and Road Leadership Series: Sustainable Development Summit” on 31 August.
In addition to a brief introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Mrs Ip highlighted the role of social enterprises and how they could capitalize on the B&R opportunities. She pointed out that Hong Kong social enterprises can follow “people-to-people bond” to foster exchanges in the “Belt and Road” regions with an aim to build a harmonious society and achieve sustainable development.
During the summit, Mrs Ip also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Institute's Working Committee and presented awards to enterprises with outstanding performance on social responsibility. Over 100 representatives from the sector attended the summit.
