Mrs Regina Ip Addresses Rotary International District 3450 Joint Meeting
At the invitation of Rotary International District 3450, Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of the Maritime Silk Road Society, gave a presentation entitled “The Belt and Road and Opportunities for Hong Kong” at its Area 4 Cross Area Joint Meeting on 9 August.
During the meeting, Mrs Regina Ip gave not only a brief introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative but also a full picture of the latest developments from the perspectives of “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”, “Geopolitics of Eastern Europe” and “Positioning of Ports”. Among three areas, she highlighted that CPEC is full of opportunities but it depends on whether the HKSAR Government would take a lead and Hong Kong enterprises would like to invest. Two months ago, Mr Abdul Qadir Memon, Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong was invited by MSRS to introduce Chinese investment in Pakistan under the Belt and Road.
