Mrs Regina Ip Addresses RICS’ Hong Kong Annual Conference 2017

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) organized the RICS Hong Kong Annual Conference 2017 on 19 May with the participation of more than 300 business leaders and surveying professionals to examine the driving forces for the city’s sustainable growth and prosperity.
During the conference, Mrs Regina Ip, Co-Chair of the Maritime Silk Road Society, gave a presentation entitled “Finance and information superhighway under the Belt and Road”. Mrs Ip reckoned the nation’s “Belt and Road Initiative” will cement Hong Kong’s position as the region’s premier trade and logistic hub, as well as the launchpad for Chinese companies going overseas. She also cited the geopolitical significance of Greek port Piraeus, China-ASEAN Information Harbor in Guangxi and China Unicom’s new global centre in Hong Kong as examples of the developmental strategies of Chinese enterprises under the “Belt and Road” initiative. Mrs Ip then took part in a panel discussion hosted by Mr Andrew Yao.
