Mrs Regina Ip Highlighted Opportunities Arising from HZM Bridge

2017-04-11

At the invitation of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Hotel General Managers Society, Mrs Regina Ip, Co-chair of Maritime Silk Road Society, shared her views with senior hotel executives in a forum entitled “Under the Belt and Road Initiative, what are the Opportunities and Challenges facing the Tourism Development in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao when HK-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is completed in 2018?”.

The forum was held on 11 April at the Metropark Kowloon Hotel and was attended by about 100 participants from the hotel industry. “Upon completion of the HK-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Tuen Mun – Chek Lap Kok Link, the travelling time between Hong Kong and the Greater Pearl River Delta will be shortened while bringing developmental opportunities for Hong Kong as the gateway in the regions,” Mrs Regina Ip said.

She highlighted that Hong Kong should grasp the opportunities arising from the HZMB and enhance its connectivity with Guangxi and South-East Asian regions along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in order to attract more visitors to Hong Kong and create a new travelling experience for them under the nation’s “Belt and Road” strategy.
